Congratulations to Dr. Allison Jones who was elected ISMS District 8 Trustee at the April 15-17 Annual Meeting in Oak Brook, Illinois. Dr. Jones will be replacing Dr. Chris Dangles who has served as District 8 Trustee since 2005. We appreciate the work Dr. Dangles has done on our behalf and have confidence that Dr. Jones will represent us well in the future.
Congratulations to Dr. Art Traugott and Dr. Nestor Ramirez who were elected as AMA Delegates for ISMS and to Dr. Chris Dangles who was elected as an Alternate AMA Delegate.
CCMS was represented at the ISMS House of Delegates meeting by County Delegates Dr. Arthur Traugott, Dr. Allison Jones, Dr. Reed Thompson, Dr. Samatha Tipirneni, and Dr. Sherfield Dawson. Dr. Nestor Ramirez filled in for Dr. Vas Naidu who was unable to attend.
Dr. Samatha Tipirneni served on Reference Committee D which considers and submits its recommendations to the HOD on reports and resolutions relating to governmental affairs, medical/legal issues, public relations and miscellaneous subjects.
Two resolutions were submitted by Champaign County and accepted by the House of Delegates:
- Resolution 47: Electronic Medical Records Development, was introduced by our Delegate, Dr. Reed Thompson, and was accepted as written.
- Resolution 59: Safety Net Hospital Funding, which was written by Dr. Nestor Ramirez and introduced by Dr. Thompson, was accepted after it was amended in committee.
