CCMS participated in the Christie Clinic Illinois Marathon by sponsoringĀ a hydration station for the 10K race on Saturday morning, April 30th. The hydration station was setĀ up in front of Dr. Howard School at Park and James Street in Champaign.
CCMS members who volunteered worked along with teachers, parents and students from Dr. Howard School, filling about 1,000 cups with water before the race, handing water to the runners as they went by, and cleaning up cups afterward. About 2,000 runners came through the hydration station and many thanked the volunteers who handed them water.
All volunteers were given event t-shirts and string bags to identify them as team members and to keep as souvenirs. Everyone who participated had a great time!
