The Spring Membership meeting was held on Thursday, April 21st at the I-Hotel and Conference Center in Champaign. CCMS President, Dr. Sherfield Dawson reported results of the ISMS House of Delegates meeting and introduced the new District 8 Trustee, Allison L. Jones, MD. Dr. Chris Dangles, outgoing District 8 Trustee, was honored with an engraved gift and thanked for his two terms of service to the district. New Student Board Member, Maritza Alvarado, was introduced and outgoing Student Board Member, Vitaly Stepensky was thanked for his work with the Board and presented with a gift. Six new CCMS members were formally voted into the Society as well.

Revisions to the CCMS Constitution & Bylaws were approved at the meeting by vote of those present. Dr. Dawson announced the donation of historical CCMS records to the Champaign County Historical Archives.

The program featured a panel discussion titled: “Graduate Medical Education and Research in Champaign County: A Vision for the Future.” Discussion if area GME and research programs and possible future cooperation among institutions followed short presentations by the panelists who included:

Cathy Emanuel, Project Consultant, Provena Covenant Medical Center

Jennifer Eardley, PhD, Associate Director, Division of Biomedical Sciences, University of Illinois

Krishnarao Tangella, MD, Medical Director, Christie Clinic Laboratory and Provena Covenant Medical Center Laboratory

CME credit was available for the program.
